# 1. Company

The company the receptionist works for, the facts it may share about it, and which hours count as "open".

**Content → 1. Company** holds the basic facts about the company. The receptionist uses them in every conversation: in the greeting, and to answer general questions such as "Where are you?" or "Are you open on Saturday?". Only the company name is required.

## Fields

| Field | What it does | If empty |
| --------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ | ------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Company name** (required) | The name as callers know it. It's spoken in every greeting (`{{company}}` in 11. Phrases). | — |
| **Telephone hours** | The timeplan from 6. Timeplans that decides when the phone is answered. Within these hours callers are put through; outside them a message is taken. Callers who ask are told these hours. | The inbox's office hours are used. |
| **Visiting hours (if different)** | One or two sentences on when and how people can come by, if that differs from the telephone hours or needs an appointment. | The telephone hours count as visiting hours too. |
| **What does the company do?** | One or two sentences the receptionist may tell callers who ask what the company does. | The receptionist can't describe the company. |
| **Address** | Given to callers who ask where you are. | The receptionist says it doesn't have that information. |
| **General phone number** | Given to callers who ask how to reach the company by phone. | — |
| **Public email address** | Given to callers who ask where to email. Messages for colleagues **don't** go here; they go to the address in 2. Front desk. | — |
| **Website** | The website the Guided Setup reads to fill in this page. | — |

## How it shows in a conversation

In the chat test above:

* **"What does Enreach do?"** The receptionist answers with the text from *What does the company do?*.
* **"And what is your address?"** *Address* is empty, so the receptionist says *"I don't have that information myself."* and then asks what the caller is calling about (the **Ask to clarify** line from 11. Phrases).
* **"Are you open on Saturday?"** The answer, *"Saturday and Sunday we are closed."*, comes from the timeplan selected in *Telephone hours*.

{% hint style="warning" %}
**The receptionist repeats these fields as truth.** It doesn't invent facts, but it also doesn't check what you enter. Keep the address, phone number and hours up to date, and remove anything the website read wrongly.
{% endhint %}

## Tips

* Put **facts** here or in 5. Topics. Use 10. Persona only for instructions about behaviour.
* If departments or colleagues keep different hours, give them their own timeplan in 6. Timeplans instead of describing the exceptions here.
* After changing the hours, test a question like "Are you open tomorrow?" in the preview.
