# Before you begin

What you need before you order and configure a Smart Receptionist.

## Access you need

| You need                                                                                   | For                                        |
| ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ | ------------------------------------------ |
| An **Operator** account with ordering rights for the customer | Ordering the extension |
| Access to the customer's **DialoX Studio** environment | Creating and configuring the bot |
| An **Enreach Contact** account for the customer, with queues, call groups and users set up | The receptionist connects callers to these |

## Information to collect from the customer

The Guided Setup fills in a lot automatically, from the phone system and from the company website. Having this ready makes it quicker:

* **Company website.** The receptionist reads the homepage and contact page to fill in the company details and suggest topics.
* **Front desk.** A queue or call group that takes over when the receptionist can't place a caller, and a mailbox that somebody reads for messages.
* **Telephone hours.** Opening days, times and the lunch break.
* **Departments.** What callers ask for (for example *Sales*, *Support*, *Planning*), and the queue or call group behind each one.
* **Colleagues** that callers ask for by name. Leave out meeting rooms and test users.
* **The 3 to 5 most common reasons people call**, with the facts the receptionist may share about each.
* **Channels.** Phone only, or also web chat and/or WhatsApp. WhatsApp needs a separate number connection, see [Channel differences](/smart-receptionist/channels/channel-differences.md).

{% hint style="info" %}
**Choose the extension number in advance.** The receptionist gets its own Enreach Contact extension, so pick a free number that fits the customer's numbering plan.
{% endhint %}
